5.0 out of 5 stars A Poetic Photo Narrative!
“Here, There, Everywhere & In Between” is a poetic photo narrative of author/photographer Amr’s El-Bayoumi’s travels to interesting and exotic locations around the World. El-Bayoumi proves the adage that “a picture is worth a thousand words” by giving us access to quotidien scenes and vistas on streets and seashores…in towns and cities while offering a study of the people who frequent them. These include global locations both East and West but also Cairo, Alexandria, Aswan and Luxor…destinations tied to El-Bayoumi’s own Egyptian heritage. He imparts the cultural awareness and breadth that accompanies first-generation Americans with vibrant ties to their origins…offering a voyeuristic interzone between cultures.
The photos impart beauty, humor, commerce, friendship and more while conveying different cultures and ideas that are hinted at by the title of each photo. None of the photos are staged, so the images have an immediacy and authentic vitality to them. It is a handsome hard-cover book that would enhance any arts bookshelf or coffee table!
