Rula Helou lives in Lebanon. She holds a BA degree in Arabic literature from the Lebanese University since 1998. She is a highly accomplished field journalist, poet, social activist and disability advocate and speaker with an overall 15 years of extensive experience in the MENA region, besides a representative international participation in advocating the disabled. She currently writes on freelance basis for different Lebanese and regional publications among which are Sinye Magazine and Nisreena Magazine. She has one poetry book on the shelves in the libraries and soon embarking on wrapping and publishing her second poetry book. She is also preparing for a new social TV program that will air soon on one of the prime TV channels in Lebanon. In addition, she is a Board Member at the Ecumenical Disability Advocates Network (EDAN) and the Regional Coordinator of EDAN in the Middle East.
