Nagat Ali - also spelt Najat Ali or Nagat Aly is an Egyptian poet, essayist and, and a literary critic. Nagat  was awarded her Doctoral degree in  Arabic Arts Department from the College of the Arts, Cairo University(2014).

She has published several poetry collections: “A Superstitious Creature Adores Garrulousness” (2002), “Cracked Wall” (2009),” Like the Blade of a Knife” (2010), “Glass Tombs” (2019), and “Time is out of Solitude" (2023). Her published work also includes three books: two literature criticism books: “The Irony in the Short Stories of  Yusuf  Idriss ” (2009) and "The Narrator in the Novels of Naguib Mahfouz" (2017). In 2019 she also published “The Road to Tahrir Square: Daily Life during the Egyptian revolution” (2019) - a book that covers the Arabic Spring.

In Arab Festival Beirut 39  , 2009, she was selected as one  of the best young writers in the Arab world. In the same year, she was also awarded the Tangier Prize for Poetry  for her Collection of poetry:" Cracked Wall" in Morocco. She was also awarded Akhbar-Aladab Newspaper’s Mahfouz prize for her book :" The Narrator in the Novels of Naguib Mahfouz"(2017). Her poems have been translated to several Languages
