My name is Mona Prince. I am an Egyptian writer born in Cairo, 1970. When I was a child, I had 2 dreams, one, to be a belly dancer, the other to be a flight attendant to travel around the world. neither has come true. however, I was able to do a public belly dance performance at Claremont colleges, California, when i was a visiting professor in 2014\2015, actually a rescue scholar fellow. in 2017 I danced in my house and posted a video on my Facebook profile page, the result of which was the end of my academic career, as I got fired from Suez university in 2018. A lawsuit against the university decision is still going on at the state council court.
As a writer, I was never able to write a decent composition when I was at school. Thanks to the essay professor at the English language and literature at Ain Shams university, I evolved. I was very much influenced by late professor\writer Radwa Ashour and I decided to become a writer. This came true.
As a crazy person, I took part in the Egyptian revolution of January 2011 and decided to run for presidency of Egypt. It was difficult at the time and became even more difficult later, but I tried again in 2018 and I tour Egypt on my own in my Russian Lada Niva car. That was a great experience despite the outcome.
Below is a list of my books for whoever is interested in my writings. Writing helped me fulfill my childhood wish of travelling around the world through invitations to literary festivals and events. Can’t complain!
