Maha Elamin Abdelgalil Mahmoud is a young Sudanese Creative Writer of both prose and verse fiction. She was born in Khartoum, Sudan but spent a substantial number of years overseas with her family, where she was given support to pursue her love for the arts and literature. Maha has always been an avid reader and follower of the arts, herself an amateur painter and keen diarist when young. She embarked on a career in literature, completing her undergraduate degree in Khartoum, at Sudan University College (B.A. in English), then University of Khartoum (PG Dip. in English Literature), Loughborough University (M.A. in Modern and Contemporary Writing). She had worked as a teacher, translator/interpreter, lecturer, and admin. manager all in the field of education, academia or humanitarian issues. She is a volunteer in a number of organizations both in Europe and Africa. She is currently completing a PhD in Creative Writing at Loughborough University and living/working in the UK. She has a number of acclaimed poems published in the UK (Dublin Poetry Review and RAW Magazine), and has performed her work in the UK, Estonia, Hungary, Finland and Sudan.
Maha is a member of the BCLA (British Comparative Literary Association), RSL (Royal Society of Literature), CREC (Charnwood Racial and Equality Centre), CCC (Crystal Clear Creators, Nottingham). Her research areas and interests are Orature, World Literature and Poetry.
