Dr Khalid Shibib is a German-Palestinian neurosurgeon who was born 1947 in Jaffa-Palestine, finished his primary and secondary schools in Baghdad/Iraq. He also completed his medical studies and specialization and work in Iraq and Germany.
The first 20 years of his career were mainly spent in doing clinical work in MOH Hospitals in Iraq and in some Arab Countries with the Palestine Red Crescent (PRCS).
Since 1992 till retirement in 2009 and thereafter in many short missions, he worked at emergency department at the World Health Organization Headquarters in Geneva. In this capacity, he covered and visited countries affected by crisis in various geographic regions. He has publications in neuroscience and co-authorship in many other. He published a poetry book early seventies and a novel in mid-2014.
