Heba Mostafa El-Sagheer (Heba Al-Saghir) is an Egyptian writer and researcher. She studied journalism at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo university and graduated with honors, achieving the second highest GPA in the department. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University with honors. She worked as a teaching assistant at Al-Ahram Univeristy.
Her Fondness for Furniture and Decorations in Old Egyptian Films Led Elsaghir to Publish the book "The Modern Taste in Furniture and Decoration of Egyptian Films”
In August 2021, she won the Arab Fund of Arts and Culture (AFAC) award for her project, “Modern Taste in Egyptian Film furniture and Set Design”. Her project builds on her paper “The effect of the Bauhaus School on Furniture and architecture in Egyptian Films during the 50s and till the 70s” that was awarded the best research certificate in the 7th Arab Association of civilization and Islamic Art Conference. Heba published her project with El-Ein Publishing House in June 2022 under the title “Modern Taste in Egyptian Film Furniture and décor 1950-1979”.
Heba has various publications among which “Why do women take off their Veils?”, “Women’s liberation movement: History and consequences”, “The complexities of human consciousness in “I do Not sleep” novel”. She also published two literary works, “14 Portraits” (2021) and “The silkworm” (2016).
Heba plays the guitar, composes music and writes lyrics. She composed music for an award winning documentary called “Where the wild things lie”, which won the best documentary prize during the 3rd Ro’ya Youth Forum organized by the Egyptian film centre.
