D-L Nelson

International

D-L Nelson is an American-raised Swiss writer who lives and works in Geneva, Switzerland and Argelès-sur-mer, France. She holds a creative writing Masters Degree from Glamorgan University in Wales.

Nelson wanted to be a writer from the age of four. She and her mother used to create oral “double-stories” with each adding to the plot. At nine D-L started a school newspaper and worked for a daily paper as a cub reporter at 16. After a degree in English/History from Lowell University, her professional life included a number of corporate communications posts.

She started writing fiction in the 1980s. Since then, she has had 14 novels published, including the TCK mystery series featuring Annie Young, a history-loving, multi-lingual Third-Culture Kid. The novels are set in various international cities and combined a bit of history and social commentary along with a murder.

Her newest two novels are Triple Decker, about a Boston Irish-Catholic family nearly torn apart by the Iraqi War, and Day Care Moms, about four single mothers struggling to do the best for their kids.

D-L is currently working on Lexington, about a British soldier who fought in the first battle of the American Revolution.
