Hani Sameer Yared (Yarid) is a Jordanian media critic, editor, and producer born in 1963. He is known for his translation into Arabic of Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness in 1998 first edition and a second edition in 2013. He also translated the Great Gatsby in 2008.
He has a B.A in English language and literature from Yarmouk University 1985. He taught English language in the schools of the Ministry of Education in Jordan for four years (1987-1991).
Lived and worked in Los Angeles, California for three years (1991-1994).
Taught and designed courses for plain English and English for special purposes in Amman Business Institute (1995-1998).
Joined Arabia Online, owned by His Highness Al Waleed bin Talal, as a Living and Culture editor of the English Channel (1998-1999).
Published the first edition of John Conrad's Heart of Darkness 1998 in Irbid, Jordan.
Chief Editor of Planetarabia.com in Casablanca, Morocco (2000-2001).
